FOLLY

The original “I-house” type was largely preserved but was enlarged to an historically accurate “H-house”. The wellhouse was moved by crane to a new stone foundation to be used as an outbuilding. Sustainability was a high priority in the project in both the design and in the construction process. An efficient thermal envelope and geothermal heating and cooling system will keep energy use low. Old flooring and sheathing boards were re-milled and installed as new flooring, and the chimneys were repaired so that the old fireplaces could be safely used again.
